hi.

i’m Charis.

this is me.

i am 22 years old and i deal with a fun assortment of mental illnesses. i have pretty much the generic assortment, meaning i have anxiety, depression, bipolar 2, borderline personality disorder, and adhd. Because of all this, I tend to have a lot of feelings and I tend to write poetry and other things to deal with them.

this will become clear if you read any poem i have ever written.

these things are typically about what education and credentials i have though, so let’s list all that fun stuff out here:

In May of 2019, I graduated with about 100 other kids at Oconto Falls High School, in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. (I know what you must be thinking: that is a super creative name for a high school.) I participated in choir, vocal jazz, concert band, pep band, marching band, jazz band, the quiz bowl team, student council, and the class officer team.

For a month in 2019, I attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, pursuing a degree in Vocal Performance. However, that failed on a level more spectacular than I could have possibly imagined. A bunch of life ensued, and flash forward to December 2020, when I finished my First Semester of College at Blinn College in Bryan, Texas with a determination to be a clinical psychologist. The plan drastically shifted, and I then graduated from Blinn in May 2023 (after 2 years on the Brenham campus) with an Associates of Arts in Music. My current next step is Texas Lutheran University where I will be chasing a Vocal Performance Degree (and possibly a degree in Psychology as well).
